What's a Year-Plan?

Tapestry of Grace is organized in 4 volumes, called Year-Plans. These volumes sequentially cover all of human history from Genesis to the present.

Each Year-Plan is meant to be studied in one year, over 36 solid school weeks. However, many families choose to cover one Year-Plan in two school years, thus using one week plan every two weeks. The weekly plans are not specific to days of the week, so this adaptation is easy!
Each Year-Plan has assignments for grades K-12 who all study the same quarter of the history of the world at their level. All students in your home school are on the same (or related) topic(s) each week.
Following the Year-Plans as written, you will bring your family through a thorough study of the History of the World in 4 years, but as we said above, you are always free to go at a much slower pace.
The assignments all aim at solidifying the student’s comprehension, enjoyment, and retention of the information he studies at his level through suggesting readings and activities that utilize all learning modalities.
Because all students and families learn differently, more suggestions are presented than can be taken advantage of by the average student. Most students have to CHOOSE between assignments each week, but care is taken to not overwhelm students (and parents) with too many choices!

PLEASE NOTE: Though the program was originally conceived and designed in Year-Plans, Lampstand Press now sells Tapestry each Year-Plan in five separate components: BASE, Unit 1, Unit 2, Unit 3, and Unit 4. The Tapestry of Grace Year-Plans are PLANS of study. You will still need to purchase or borrow resource books the plans recommend!
