For most of us, our school year is ended and we are taking a sigh of relief! We rejoice with you and thank God for your faithfulness in teaching your children at home! We hope you will relax some before jumping into your preparations for next school year. Feel free to contact us when you are ready to order, or if you need assistance in setting up for the first time.
We would love to meet you at a conference during June. Bring along a friend and introduce her to the Tapestry family!
If you are interested in participating in our online Tapestry of Grace classes for your dialectic and rhetoric students, click here to see our course offerings through the Lampstand Learning Center. For details about registration, click here.
If you have any questions about the LLC, please contact Barb Spanier.
The folks at Bookshelf have prepared RACpacks (Reading Assignment Chart book packages) for the LLC families. These book packages guarantee that all students taking any given course have access to the same books. You can access these under the RACpacks tab at Bookshelf Central's home page. If you have questions about the contents of these, please feel free to contact either your teacher or David.
We released the Year 2 curriculum on May 23 and will be releasing the Year 2 Evaluations and Shorter Works Anthology later in the summer. The new Year 1 Unit 3 release is hot on its heels, for which we are grateful! If you ordered this unit, be watching your inbox during early June for the announcement of its availability.
As you may remember, our release dates have been changed from our projections earlier this spring because of our computer problems and staff changes. If you'd like to keep current on our revised release dates, please see the pdf of our release schedule, linked on the home page of our Store.
If you missed last month's newsletter, please note that we have had to tweak the use of a few book titles for Year 1. Check out the Book Changes Chart on our website to learn more.
You may be aware that we provide summer reading assignments for Year 2-4 for all learning levels. These are not required, as the first week or two of these year-plans provides a simple review. If you are like most of us though, you'd like to not totally lose learning momentum over summer break. Or, you may be beginning Tapestry for the first time and would like to "catch up" in your chronological study of history. These assignments will serve you either way! You can find the summer reading assignment charts at the end of each year-plan's Unit 1 Introductions or in a separate document on your Loom.
Note that, because there is no historical background for Year 1, there is no summer reading preparation. That said, if you'd like your rhetoric Literature students to learn key terminology ahead of time, have him read as much of A Poetry Handbook, by Mary Oliver, as possible.
Each month we send out a newsletter that has information about new products, policy changes, teaching tips, DE tips, and more! As a "thank you" for reading our letter, we offer monthly money-saving coupons that give discounts to those who receive our newsletter. If you'd like to get our monthly coupons but did not sign up for our newsletter, you will need to sign up for it. These discount coupon offers are not listed anywhere else, so sign up before our next coupon is delivered around the middle of June!
If you are new to Tapestry of Grace, we'd like to take a moment to introduce you to Marcia Somerville, the primary author and founder of Lampstand Press. Get to know her heart through her blog posts at our website. We think you'll be blessed!
