Can you believe that 2013 has nearly come and gone? Here at Lampstand Press, we can look back over this year with praise to our Father because we have released the last substantial revision of our Tapestry year-plans and have launched our mentoring network. We are also developing new products and services that we pray will assist you on your homeschooling journey, and that we will be excited to announce in the new year! If you know of anyone who has not signed up for newsletter delivery to her inbox, please encourage her to do so. This is the easiest way to keep up with our latest initiatives!
After 18 years of developing Tapestry of Grace, we are now shifting our focus from further development of our curriculum to energetic support and training for the growing network of Tapestry users. While we have long supported individual families and many co-op groups using Tapestry, we are excited that at long last we have the resources to broaden and deepen that support in the coming months and years by creating Tapestry University.
In 2014, we hope to create, train, certify and support four new kinds of Tapestry mentors (Advisors, Deans, Master Teachers, and Provosts). We are excited to offer training so that you can serve homeschoolers in your local area, form new Fellowship Groups with other Tapestry users that are supported by Lampstand Press, and potentially, to earn income through involvement with these new positions and programs.
If you are interested in finding out about these new Tapestry University programs, please take some time over the holidays to watch a one-hour presentation hosted by Marcia Somerville. She shares the vision for Tapestry University, and many details about these new programs. (Find the "Certification Training" tab to view the presentation on your computer.)
Have you seen the Samples section of our website? There you'll see tutorials with helpful text to lead a newcomer through a week-plan, and samples of our Digital Edition (DE). If you know of someone who is interested in trying DE, we highly encourage her to see how everything meshes together from a technical standpoint.
The arrival of December means that Unit 3 books from any year-plan are on sale! The 10% off will automatically be deducted from those books; there is no need for a special coupon to get this discount. Also, don't forget that there is a substantial after-Christmas sale on damaged books!
Lastly, Bookshelf Central has some great educational games and Christmas books that are only available in limited quantities! These are first come-first served, so buy your copies now!
Enjoy reading some of Marcia's previous blog posts, which are linked at our website under the "Home" button in the navigation bar. There is a particularly timely one called "Early New Years Resolutions, Anyone?" that you may be interested in taking the time to read this week. There are also some delightful articles that you may find helpful under "Quiet Time Support" linked down the right side of this page. We hope these bless you!
