What is a year-plan?
4 year-plans
Click here to see what's in a year-plan.
Tapestry year-plans cover all of human history in four school years, but you can use them at your own pace.
In a 12-year education, all of history is surveyed 3 times, at higher and higher levels of understanding.
All your students stay together on one basic historical topic each week--and so do you as their teacher!
4 units and the Loom
Units divide the year-plan in fourths: each is about 9 weeks. The Loom is a digital resource that gives you teaching materials that you'll use through the year. Click here to find out more about Loom content.

9 week-plans
make up most Tapestry units (some have 8 or 10). Week-plans are the actual weekly plan of study for all your students and for you as their teacher. Yours may be printed (as shown), or digitalized on your computer screen, depending on your chosen delivery method.

These give you the teacher the objective goals that are so necessary to unit study.
Threads also list page numbers for easy reference to teacher’s notes within each week-plan.

Weekly Overview Pages
Here we show you the week at a glance for all suggested activities except reading. These are written to the students to encourage independent planning, but you are the teacher and will be able to guide the student’s choices each week.

Writing Assignments
These are organized into 12 levels. Assignments cover a wide range of genres to give you a rich writing program, while remaining tied into the content of each week’s history topic.
Highly recommended is our Writing Aids, a custom-designed handbook that helps you teach and students write.
