Government for unit 4

I'm trying to decide if I should purchase the Yr 2 Key Documents in Government Studies. I plan to begin TOG with Unit 4 so we would only be doing a portion of it. But this time period (regarding government) is so important. Is there a sample somewhere of the government that I can see? I'm wondering too if the documents are available online.

Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Linda,

I haven't gotten to unit 4 yet, but so far in the first 3 units all of the government documents have been available. I personally have the cd, which we've used for hte whole year, and it has been very handy for my son to have everything all in one place on the new DE interface. However, a couple of other boys in our co-op don't have it, and I believe they have been able to find everything they needed either in the library or online. You just have to factor in the time to search for it, and to request it from the library.

Thanks Jana. Since we haven't actually begun unit 4 yet I'm still getting my feet wet, as it were. I haven't looked ahead in each week yet to see how each lesson in government is set up. Does the cd just have the readings? Is the guidance for the readings and any discussion questions found in the weekly plans or is some of that information found on the cd?

All of the assignments and questions are in the week plans themselves. The cd is simply a handy collection of most of the readings used, to save you from having to search online or purchase many smaller books.

Thanks again. What I need to do now is to decide if I should buy the government cd when I'll only be using it for one unit. I guess I'll check and see how many different documents are used in unit 4 and how easy they are to find online. But the problem I may have is if only parts of documents are used. If that's the case I would be in trouble! LOL!

Can anyone tell me if there are some documents or speeches that are used in part instead of in total in unit 4?
