Hi,
I've been able to use this feature before, but now when I try to export a resource list to excel, nothing happens?

Scott is working on this as we speak! One of us will put up a notice when it's fixed.

Scott finished working on the Resource List and the Excel export button should be working now.

The resource list looks great! I would like to be able to sort the list by weeks used so I can have the list in 'chronological' order so to speak.
I'm not sure how feasible chronological order sorting by weeks will be. I assume that TOG wants to provide a list of all weeks a book is used in. If so I suspect that your computer will read that data as non numeric.
I've found when you use numbers in ways that a computer doesn't understand as numeric you get weird sort results. If TOG wants to provide a list of all weeks a book is used in, then I suspect that Excel will sort that column oddly (for instance I have seen it sort a list of numbers that it is reading as non numeric date like this: 1, 11, 12, ... 19, 2, 20).
What you could do is create multiple entries for books for each single week it is used OR eliminate the other weeks in the box except for the first week. You may have to go in and tell Excel the data in that column is numeric (right click, format and then pick the type of entry).

Pat I thought we are supposed to be able to sort the list online by clicking the coloumn headers. I want to sort the list before printing it, and I thought I could do that without exporting to exel. If this is incorrect I guess I'll have to do some juggling in exel.
You are correct, I do not if the system at TOG will respond the same way Excel does.
To sort at the site, I click on the top columns. Have you tried that?

The top labels don't seem to be clickable. Perhaps this feature got lost in the modifications made the other day. I can see a list of which weeks are used when I am logged in but that column doesn't export to excel. I can print it as is but it would just be more useful to me in week order as I plan to buy books over a long period of time and not all in one hit.

I checked again this morning and the headers were working to sort as they were when I posted last. Is it possible this is a problem with your browser? I use Google Chrome.

I use firefox. I'll give explorer a go. It seems the print list doesn't have the weeks used either. They are only available on screen.

You're right Pat not Pattie it works in explorer but not in Firefox. At least I know what the problem is now.

Status Update
At the moment, I can't get Firefox to initialize a javascript routine that makes the columns sortable. I'll get it figured out eventually... but for now, try using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or some other browser if you need to sort the columns.
And if any of you happens to be a javascript whiz, let me know!

Thanks somerschool. I'm using IE to get around it. Is there a reason that the weeks used (i.e. week 2, week 4) list that shows up when you are logged in is not part of the print or export forms?
Thanks
Can't help you on the why part but you can export to Excel by copying and pasting from the screen instead of using the export to Excel button.
I usually go to the lower right hand corner of the chart I want to copy and paste and then go up to the top left. Then this usually pastes without problem into Excel.
