Some of the grammar level literature worksheets require the use of a thesaurus or dictionary. The student editions of each that we own often don't contain words that are on the worksheets. This drives me crazy and makes the worksheet only half usable. My MIL is pretty sure that older editions that were around when she was a child would contain the words. This makes sense since many of the literature selections were written decades or more ago.

So, what do you have your children use? Do you use adult versions? Do you have any recommendations for student versions? Do I need to find some that were published 50 years ago?

Thanks.

If you are talking about the vocabulary words there is a list of definitions for all the words on the Loom.

I can't recommend a dictionary or thesaurus but you could try using dictionary.com or thesaurus.com if you are not opposed to your children using the computer instead of a reference book.

I have my kids look up the words in the dictionary normally used at their age level, but if the word is not there, I will look it up for them in the adult dictionary. (Looking up words at that age can be so time-consuming that I don't make them look up the same word twice!) We prefer Merriam-Webster dictionaries at our house.
