I've been homeschooling for 15 years so as I prepare to start using ToG next year, I'm going through my library of books, resource list in hand, to pull out what I need. I happen to notice in the first week of Y1 U1 an alternate resource is Story of the World for UG. Yet I don't see SOTW on any resource list, Primary or Alternate, either from the tapestry site or Bookshelf Central.
I just downloaded ToG DE this week so I'm assuming I have the most updated year plan.
This is going to make it really hard to pull books and decide if I have what I need or if I have to buy it, if I have to go through the entire year plan, week by week, to find the correct books that are used with the program. HELP!
Thanks so much
Susan

Hi, Your message got me wondering, because I use the TOG Resource Lists for planning too. I am a long time user of TOG. I have mentioned to Ray in the past, and I still wish they would fix the "weeks used" column so that the weeks will sort properly numerically. All it would take would be to place a zero in front of each single digit week number for each title.

Example:

Week 01
Week 02, etc
Week 11
Week 12
Week 20

Instead the Resource List sorts the Weeks Used column like this:
Week 1
Week 10
Week 11, etc.
Week 2
Week 20, etc

I do see that The Story of the World is found in the Alternate Resource List for Year 2. But, you are right it is not listed in Year 1.

It is not a perfect document, and could be better. Since you have DE, you can search the whole unit and type in "the story of the world" and it will pull up each time the phrase is mentioned. That would be quicker than flipping pages.

My goal is to figure out what books I have that we will need for the next four years til my son graduates, and start to sell off everything else to get all those extra books out of my attic.
I'm afraid if I don't have an accurate resource list, I'll end up selling something that I need down the road.
On the other hand, in the whole scheme of things, while it would be a pain to re-purchase a book, it would not be the end of the world. http://tapestryofgrace.groupee.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Because books go out of print(OOP) on us on a regular basis, the Resource List (RL) is challenging to maintain. We do our best, but we can't always guarantee 100% accuracy. However, for your goal of keeping what you'll need, there's a fix already in place. Please take some time to thoroughly acquaint yourself with our BUC (Book Updates Chart), if you have not already. This is really an AMAZING resource, if we do say so ourselves! On it, we not only post replacement books for those that go OOP, but we *archive* those pages of the curriculum that went with the OOP book. Therefore, even if the RL is out of date in one or two instances, you can always find the most up to date information on our BUC.

HTH!
