View Full Version : Is the writing directly tied to the reading?

I am new to TOG and assume the writing assignments are tied to what the kids are reading. However, in week 2 the mosaic assignment doesn't coincide with what he is reading this week, although there is another chapter in the book that does talk about mosaics. It doesn't completely describe how they are made, though, which is the writing assignment. Are the kids suppose to do supplemental research?
Also, there were two writing assignments listed for week 2 - should you generally do only one for the required 1 credit for English? The other assignment this week looks like it is tied to the government reading, which we aren't doing.
Thanks so much!!!! I've been doing a ton of reading but still have questions. Thanks! :-) Brenda

The writing is often (not always) tied to the weekly topic. And sometimes, yes, supplemental research is required.

In general, if there's a choice of topics or something, it will be specified that you should choose one. If two are listed, they should both be done. Normally there won't be two different writing assignments, although in week 2 there are (spread out over a number of weeks, as you probably noticed).

Someone else please correct me if I'm misleading her. http://tapestryofgrace.groupee.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
