Has anyone used A Child's History of the World (Hillyer) with TOG? There's a part of me that craves a spine, although I supposed my LG son might not need it. I know SOTW is listed for UG, but I didn't know if A Child's History of the World might be better for a first grader? (Sonlight uses CHOW in first and second grade, Calvert uses it in fourth.)

Boy, it's so hard to decide which books to buy when the fact is that I want to buy them all. http://tapestryofgrace.groupee.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I made a list that combined the Hillyer book with the classic TOG. It gives a nice overview. I thought that the link was in the Y1 history section, but I could be wrong.

I used the CHOW book as part of SL's cores 1 and 2. I also used the first two STOW books. I liked the CHOW book better, but I did use the first edition of STOW which I think needed more editing and I also think may have gotten that since I used them.

Based on lots of listening to others, I think whether you like one or the other is a personal preference.

Just bumping this up to see if anyone has made a schedule for using CHOW with TOG Year 1 redesign? If so, I'd love to see it. Thanks!

Hi,
I believe you'll find this on the TOG Year 1 History (http://www.tapestryofgrace.com/year1/history.php) links.
