I need a little help thinking about how to narrow the scope for my son's research paper. He wants to do it about the war in the Pacific (WW II). But that is sooooo broad. I'm not sure how narrow to insist that he go. He doesn't want to do generals. He's more interested in battles, tactics, you know - war stuff (I could use some prayer about sticking with reading and evaluating the steps in this process with him - the things that are the most interesting to him in studying war are the least interesting to me!)
Any suggestions?

Here are two that popped into my head:

Choose a battle and discuss how God used it to change the course of history.

Choose a battle and discuss how the tactics affected the outcome. (Maybe combine this with the above.)

My dss just completed this assignment in Year 2. I was pleasantly surprised out how interesting their papers were - even the second reading! http://tapestryofgrace.groupee.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
