I've just started using TOG. I started w/year 4 unit 1 & 2- it was the only 20th Century World history curriculum that was suitable for my gifted high schooler. - Thank you!

I will be moving my other child into TOG next year. Both will be in Y2. From the looks of it, I will need to add the following:

Grammar program- for both
Math- both
Science- both
Bible program - both
any electives my high schooler wants.

Do I understand that properly?

Thanks so much,
Karen

Hi Karen,

Two considerations:

1. There is a Church History track that runs throughout TOG on all levels (heavier towards the upper levels) and in Year 2, you have a heavy emphasis on the Reformation in History as well. You might not want a Bible program as such; you might want to just have your kids developing their own personal devotions, or having family devotions, and use the CH track of Tapestry as your steepest spiritual learning curve. While it cannot REPLACE Bible knowledge, a good familiarity with the acts of God in history and the development of His church is crucial, I believe, to building strong, well rounded Christians.

2. Electives for your High Schooler: TOG includes Art History, Government, Philosophy, and Church History for High Schoolers. Just so you know.

3. Foreign language studies will also be needed for your older student, I believe.
