Thread: people of the ancient world book

  1. #1
I can't find a description of what the "People of the Ancient World" book should look like. Help Do I make it a part of a binder?

Also I can't find a description of a sentence pocket. I've looked in my writing aid...

Sentence Pockets are on page 147 of Writing Aids.
The are basically a stand, like you might use for holding a book or paper you are typing from, except that they are long and not very tall. They are intended to hold the "word bank" cards so your children can build sentences with the cards they are making.

The Sentence Pocket is a neat idea...I just didn't have a place to use/store it. SO, I bought an inexpensive pocket chart at Wal-Mart and we have been using that with great success.

I'm not familiar with the "People of the Ancient World" project...sorry!!

Hm, my page 147 has a copy of an advanced cluster diagram. I wonder if they updated the writing aid recently or if I am missing something...

My copy of Writing Aids (hardback book & disk) has a date of 2007.

"Sentence Pockets" is on page 152.

I'm guessing they contain the same info -- but it may be an edition difference OR the difference between hardcopy and DE.

I just spoke with someone at TOG and I don't have the book yet. I missed that the DE that I got wasn't all there was. I just bought year one this week...
    Thanks for your help.

For info on the "People of Ancient Worlds" book project, I would look at "Making Books" in Writing Aids.

If you look ahead to Weeks 8 & 9, Level 1 Assignment, it tells you to gather the pages, proofread, polish, make a cover & "publish" for display at the Unit Celebration.

    Hope this helps!!

It can be a little confusing with DE. I wasn't sure if the DE was a copy of the book or separate information when I first ordered as well.

I figured that out as I read the writing level overview and found that we put the draw and Captions together into a book titled "People of the Ancient World."
