How to grade dialectic evaluations

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how you grade the dialectic evaluations? The rhetoric level seems easier because they've got the ten questions and the essay,so the ?s are 10 points each and then I grade the essay and average the two parts for the grade, but the dialectic ones are lots of times charts to fill in. How do I decide how many points everything should be worth? Sometimes there are two to four sections, so is each section worth 25 or 50 points and if they couldn't answer part of it they're going to get a very low grade. This has been frustrating me all year, can someone help?

Hi Wendy,
I personally just divided it according to parts, as you say...if there are four sections, each is worth 25 points. If the quiz says to write 2 points in each of the 4 sections though, I'd act like there are 8 problems, so each would be worth 12.5. Sometimes I gave partial credit (halves or thirds for easy figuring for me) depending on the amount of detail they wrote.
