I've heard other home school moms say that in a public school only a certain portion of a textbook must be finished to get that year's credit?

Opinions? And, if so, how much is "enough" (presuming that the following year's work would not be compromised) - 2/3 of the book? 3/4?

    Thanks,
    Wendy

According to Inge Cannon, 3/4 of a textbook would qualify as a Carnegie Credit. There are also a certain number of hours for the subject, but I can't remember it right now.

I hope that this helps. I'm putting together my first 'official' transcript for our oldest and it can be confusing. I'm using the resource from Lee Binz, The HomeScholar. Her comprehensive report is a great example of how a transcript can be done. (It's not the only way.)
Blessings to you and your family.
