Thread: book list and writing

  1. #1
I am a newbie starting with year4, 4 children- oldest is 11. As I begin I have a few questions: On the reading assignments in week 1 for lower grammar there is a book called "The Little Story of Babaji" yet it is not included in the booklist for Y4U1LG-- I am wondering why and if there are others I should be aware of that need to be purchased but are not on the list?
Also-- I was wondering where I find information on how to place my children in the correct writing levels?
    Thank you -Kim

    Hi Kim,
"The Story of Little Babaji" is in an anthology called The 20th Century Children's Book Treasury. To the best of my knowledge, there are no errors regarding missing books on the resource list or at Bookshelf Central. Just be careful of anthologies, although usually they are at the rhetoric level.

Regarding writing levels...look at the grade level in which the children are and see if they are capable of doing the assignments. Then look at the two levels below and just determine which is the best fit. Many new Tapestry users have to move a level or two below the child's current grade level.
