The books for this week's topic are expensive and look very difficult. I'm not sure my students (or me) are up to the task. There doesn't seem to be an assignment choice that takes a little easier look at this subject. The teacher notes emphasize the importance to future studies so I don't want to miss something important. The US History and Streams of Civilization books only have a couple pages each. Should I just go with one of those? HELP! I've got to order books soon.

Hi! Which week are you referring to? Without that info, I'd suggest letting your kids read part of your Teacher's Notes as a last resort (if they're old enough). You could pre-read and copy or highlight whatever you want them to read.

It's not ideal, but it works in a pinch!

    Hi,
Yes, I'd use the textbooks you own, and the Teacher's Notes, or other encyclopedia articles. We found the rhetoric book extremely difficult to work through, and tried to do it in sections as we could. We found that just covering the material as adequately as we could with the Teacher's Notes was..well, adequate. The particular time that we covered week 26, we just didn't have time for a detailed study of Bismarck.

    Hope this helps...

Oh, Thank you for your quick and honest answer! What a huge relief! I was thinking that sounded like more than we could do.
