I'm just starting t.o.g. this week, I'm really excited. I need to teach the geographic terms to my kids this week and I'm looking for ideas. Some ideas I have were having my 9 yo look up definitions in her children's dictionary, looking through a geography book together, and/or reading the definitions together and drawing pictures on a blank piece of paper (I thought that this could be a good resource for them for when they build their salt dough map later in the week). Any other thoughts/ideas? What worked for you?

We have been doing TOG for many years. I just found some geography cards my oldest made in 1st grade (he is now 10th!). They were tucked away in a filebox. We printed off pictures of landforms or pictures that showed what the geography term meant. He cut and pasted them on notecards and wrote the words on the front. Then I wrote the definitions out for him.
