Hi! I tried to find this answer in the forum. Sorry if there is an answer out there, and I just didn't see it!

I bought Year 2 Redesign DE for 2009-2010 school year and printed out the Poetics and Frameworks and put them in a binder.

I skipped Redesign Year 3 because our co-op decided to stick with Classic, but THIS coming year I purchased Year 4 Redesign DE...

When I looked at the Frameworks and Poetics, I thought maybe I could print off the "newer" Year 4 pages only, but comparing the two side by side, I notice that they are sort of different...

Can you tell me what to do? Should I just reprint the Frameworks and Poetics completely? I know this was probably a work in progress as you redesigned the year plans, but was the plan to have ONE Frameworks and Poetics to be used for all year plans? Do I just have an incomplete "version" as part of Redesign Year 2?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Lori,
Yes, currently the Poetics and Frameworks are somewhat different for each year-plan. We are working along now to update them so that they are the same for each; however, it won't be ready for school this fall. That said, other than the material for the specific time-frame, the other material is largely tweaking of definitions and such.

I would really not encourage you to waste the ink/paper when you know it's just another school year until you get the most updated version. How difficult is it for your student to read the Poetics/Frameworks off of the computer when it doesn't match what you've already printed off?

Sorry that's not much help...let us know what you've decided!

    Blessings,

    Dana!

It's taken a while, but here is my solution!

What I did was go through all the assignments, week by week and print ONLY the pages in Poetics and Frameworks that my son is supposed to read, filing them in his workbook for that week. Yes, there was some overlap when certain sections spilled onto another page, but it came out with less pages in the end, according to my calculations (and THIS way all the flipping of pages and finding and marking each week's reading as we go is already DONE, too!). On weeks where the assignment was to "review" pages already assigned, I did not reprint but wrote down the week # and page # of the reading so he could refer back to that week. I DID print the whole Appendix A's for both Poetics and Frameworks, so that he could look up the definitions and the authors. Those whole sections I filed complete in a separate binder. Doing it this way I figured I saved about 145 pages of printing.

I am looking forward to having Poetics and Frameworks in their finished entirety at whatever point that is accomplished -- it's a great resource!
