the title the loom substitutes is also not available "queen Victoria" by longford. Do you have any suggestions for what to use instead? this book is planned for several weeks and I am not sure what to do. Shall I just skip it? or is there another suggestion?

Have you checked at Bookshelf Central? Sometimes they have copies when other sources don't.

I suspect this is a difficult topic to find a good D level book for so if you are without it I would use the read aloud and see what my local library has and teach anything needed from the teacher's notes.

    Hi,
This book is on long-term backorder from the publisher, and thus, Bookshelf Central is looking for a new book for our primary recommendation. That said, if you have the read-aloud about Queen Victoria, it will *help.* It's not the level of detail that the dialectic students need, but at least it's something. You might also consider the excellent rhetoric DVD called Victoria and Albert.

Hope this gives you some ideas until we find a replacement title.

    Blessings,

I have done a search of my local library with a research librarian...she had no suggestions for this age level. The video is not something I had considered so thankyou. I was hoping pbs had a documentary too, haven't found one though. I do not envy you at TOG for having to find a resource there seems to be a very large gap in this particular subject. I hope you find something soon.
