Has anyone ever used the Classical Conversation cycles with TOG? I am very familiar with TOG. We have been using if for over 3 years. I am not very familiar with the CC cycles but am interested in having my kids engage in more systematic memory work at the LG and UG stages.

I've been looking into this as well. I found this link a week ago but am not sure it is what you're looking for: http://theten0clockscholar.blo...ons-cycle-1-and.html
I think she uses CC as her primary and supplements with TOG...I'm mainly interested in using the VP timeline cards to enhance "the big picture" that TOG provides (because I stink at making the big picture for my kids).

    Blessings,
    Diane

    Diane,
I really appreciate your response. I have seen it but it was little help to me as I am heading into TOG yr 4 and use TOG as my foundation. I am just looking for some memory work to supplement our TOG lessons. I suppose I should also consider using Veritas Press history and Bible cards. Do you have experience using them? I could simply create our own memory cards but the idea of having jingles and hand motions is appealing.

Crystal, I can't give you any information on CC specifically, but I can say that I've learned that co-ops that aren't my big program whether that program was Sonlight or Tapestry were often more frustrating than useful.

If you are only looking for memory work, I'd work out something on my own with either TOG's materials or the Veritas cards.

If you are looking for shared classes, crafts, etc. then I would find classes that aren't in direct competition with Tapestry if you love Tapestry. So you could do science, art, drama, etc., but skip history.

Thanks, Pat. Your advice seems wise. I am not interested in participating in CC, just wanting to supplement TOG with some memory work and wandering whether or not their CD and cards would be my best option. I definitely do not wanting to create my own cards, mnemonic devices, hand motions, etc. if some one has already done the work.
