We actually had a good week this week....I think my son is starting to understand the efficiency and helpfulness of taking notes to answer T&A questions as he reads. This could be groundbreaking, lol.
I'm also making a concerted effort to teach outlining as well as using the graphic organizers for organizing information.
As soon as ski season is over, I'll have a little "project" assigned as part of the history lesson -- writing out people (we need writing practice here), guided outlining/notetaking with me, timeline; our mapwork is done during our history group meeting.
What else to you do to get your children up to speed for D level work?
PS -- my D level student is a 6th grader. I can't remember if that's in my siggy or not.
