new to TOG in So. In./Lou. Ky.

This is a new adventure for me. I'm a mother of 4 and taking 2 out of school this year - 6th and 8th grade. Would love some input and see if there is anyone in this area to call for advice in Year 1. I'm nervous about this, but know that the Lord has directed my husband and I to begin this adventure. I was introduced to TOG by my best friend in OH, and absolutely new this was the curriculum to use, I am anxious to learn along with my daughter and son. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I will receive my pkg. tomorrow and bein to delve into it. I may be a little overwhelmed. Thanks, and I look forward to reading how others use Year 1. Blessings,S

We're not in your area, but are you familiar with the "find a friend" feature on the main TOG website? You might want to try that to find a "live" person near you!

In the mean time, I'd like to suggest that you re-post your questions on the "Just Starting Out With Tapestry" section, because I think you'll get lots of responses there!

Did you get your TOG stuff yet? We, too, pulled our kids out of public school when they were 6 and 8. It's pretty overwhelming, eh?? Don't ever forget that the Lord will give you everything you need to accomplish that which He's called you to do!!!

Thanks for responding. My name is Shelly. No, I haven't gone to that feature. Still trying to figure out all there is to know. Yes, I finally received the shipment, there is a lot of great ideas and I can't wait to get started. I am still nervous that I am doing the right thing, but I know with a lot of prayer I'll be fine. This is just un-chartered territory and especially since I was so involved in the school system. Thanks again, and I'll try the "find a friend".

Hi Shelly! While we are not doing year 1, I am near your area. I live just a few minutes south of Louisville. This will be our 6th year homeschooling but our first using TOG. We will be starting out with year 2.
