My kids (5 and 8) go to an all-day program on Fridays that cover Science, Art, Music, PE, etc. so we end up with a 4 day school week.

This is our first year with TOG and we are doingn LG and UG and I'm concerned about trying to do TOG in 4 days each week. Both of my boys have speech therapy on two different afternoons each week. My oldest reads very well, but struggles with writing. In the past, I've used a Sonlight's 4 day curriculum which worked well with our schedule.

Is TOG manageable in 4 days a week, or should I stretch it out? I'm thinking of doing each TOG week over 6 of our school days. We would end up doing 3 units instead of 4.

I am all for 4 day school weeks! I also began with Sonlight's 4 day curriculum for pre-school and K-5. My oldest will be 2nd grade this year and I am still planning on primarily a 4-day week.

We did TOG Year 1 last year. We used our Fridays for projects, catch-up, and co-op craft days. This year we are trying to keep regular studies to the first 4 days, but we will be having a TOG co-op every other Friday morning.

My boys are K-5 & 2nd grade this year. You can do TOG in 4 days, but you have to be willing to choose your TOG activities carefully to fit into your schedule. If you like more in-depth study, your plan to stretch out the weeks may be wise especially if you are considering Year 2.

We too have successfully done TOG in 4 days each week. We managed to do all the reading assignments and most of the activities. Nothing on Fridays.

I had an UG and LG this year and we did school in 4 days. We didn't always do an activity/craft every week though.

That said, we also chose to only do three units a year. We homeschool 3 months on, one month off year round so it just fit in better. It was nice to have a few weeks at the end of each three month period to play catch up in any our other subjects as needed. I plan to do this until my oldest hits 9th grade and then we'll probably pick up the pace.
Thankful to be homeschooling six precious blessings, ages 11, 8, 5, 3, 18 months and newborn.
