If I wanted clarification on the rubrik for Essay Test-taking, where could I look? For example, when it talks about "clearly defining terms" I'd some clarification on that from a teacher's grading perspective. Thanks!

    Hi Brenda,
In this instance, it wants to know if the student defined his terms clearly. This is a biggie on essays and one that I repeated over and over to my boys: "Define your terms." So, he should pick out the primary words in his thesis and make sure his defines them in his paper. If his definitions are vague, then they aren't clear.

Kinda circular reasoning there, but I hope it helps!

    Hi Dana,
I'd really like to see an example because I want to be sure my understanding of this is clear...do you have an example you could show me? For example in the R test-essay this week, which terms would you feel need defining?
    Thanks!
