    Question Poetics framework, reading assignments?????????

    Poetics framework, reading assignments?????????

OKay, I'm really confused about week 19, which we are just starting the Poetics assignments.
I can't find the poems on the loom we are suppose to read?
in the RH lesson p. 21 it says...........

    " as you start on this week's work, don't forget that you exercises will be partly based on your reading from Poetics and Frameworkds. .......... then it list;

    Reading
    Gustavbe Flaubert: "A Simple Heart"
Emily Dickinson: "It's all I have to Bring today"

    etc.

Where do I find these pieces to read?

Re: Finding Poetics, Frameworks, and Rhetoric Literature Reading Assignments!

    Kim,

If you have the DE version of Year 3 click on the desktop icon. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Browse all the Resources on the Loom", under the heading "Literature Helps" you will find "Poetics, Frameworks, and Rhetoric Literature Reading Assignments"!

If you have the Loom CD just look for the section entitled "Literature Helps" and again you will find all the information needed for this assignment.

    Hope this information was helpful!

    Kim,

Year 3 also includes a "shorter works anthology" which is a disc with short works from the 19th century. If you know where the Poetics and Frameworks are but can't find the works from Flaubert and Dickinson I suspect they will be there.

If you are unaware of this product, here's a link:

I did not know I needed to buy this extra product? Is this where the POEMS are that we are suppose to read?

Sharon, I can find the assignments, I just can't locate the POEMS we're suppose to read?

Yes, although it is possible you can find poems (and I think maybe short stories) on the internet for this time period since everything in this time period is out of copyright. Tapestry sells the disc to help you out rather than searching for each work. And, I presume having not yet used it, that the fonts etc are nice and readable.

    Kim,

The Poems are found in the "Shorter Works Anthology". This is a resource for Year 3 Poetry Assignments. The cost is $25.00 and it is available in either DE or Stand-alone CD formats. Although the material is public domain, it is much easier to have everything ready and at your finger tips!
