    Updating Dialectic Literature sheets?

I am getting my dialectic child back into TOG and have noticed on the year 1 sample that the Dialectic literature activity sheet has been updated. I bought a used copy of year 1 a while back before DE. In fact, I have all four years with one DE copy, one in print bought from TOG and 2 used years. How can I get these updates? Do I have to purchase an entire year again?

I'm possibly mistaken about the updates...I know they are being updated, is there a way to update our TOG manuals when they are officially printed?

    Hey, Beth

There are several pieces to this puzzle. Here's a summary:

    1. All DE customers get annual updates (we call them "global updates") of all four year-plans for free. We work to have these come out early in the selling season (as in, in January) so that customers can buy, print, and plan the year ahead.

    2. That said, no matter when we update/print TOG, we run into the problem that the books we recommend go in and out of print. Wanting to save our customers' hard earned money, our solution to this problem is to make TOG "ever new" by offering to ALL customers (whether they bought used, in print, or in DE) our Book Updates Charts (BUCs). (There is a link to each year-plan specific BUC on each of our year-plan home pages. Path: Above, on the toolbar, hover over your year-plan name, then click to see its home page. Look there for a button to the BUC.) You need to call Lampstand Press to gain a license to view this content, based on your ownership of any format of a year-plan but it's a one-time event, and ever afterwards, you can view/print pages that are associated with books that have gone out of print. The BUC both archives old books (so that those who choose to update generally can get back pages for books that they own but may have gone out of print) and offers fresh pages for you to print for new, replacement books. Do note that the new pages won't fit seamlessly into your old binder, though, because we've not allowed for wasted space in original TOG week-plans, and new pages displace the formatting of all that follows them.

Let us know if you still have questions!

Maybe you answered this, but I'm still a bit confused. I know about the updating for out of print books, but here is the question. I have a friend who's daughter is taking an online dialectic class for year 4. All the dialectic literature questions have been updated (not in mass print - only for those in the online class). Am I able to access these type of pages eventually even if the book is not out of print? What I saw was so rich and looked great. It's something I would like my children to use. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Beth,
No, the online classes adapt the curricula for use with the students in that particular class and what you saw on your friend's computer was probably just that. You are free, of course, to adapt any material for use with your own children as well.

Hope this clarifies it a bit!
