Question DE and Selective Printing Question

I'm working in a small co-op. I already own a Year 1, first printing, but in trying to figure out how or if to get everyone on the same year plan, I'd like to ask a question that the other moms have asked printing. If DE solves this problem, then maybe I should upgrade instead of everybody trying to match my old plan.

They've had frustrations this year because they can't pick and choose parts of the SAPs for their children. They both have one child working on R level for lit but D level for everything else.

Would DE solve this problem and allow them to only sections of SAPs?

Do they have the "workbook contents" on their Loom disks (for print)? I don't remember. I've upgraded all of my print year plans to DE on my latest rotation. The workbook content documents are unprotected pdf files which are supplied to allow moms to copy and paste whichever portions of the SAPs they need. I did just that one year when my dd was bridging two levels. I believe I was a print only gal back then -- but then again, that might have been pre-DE, too. I know the workbook content IS in the Loom section of DE. So wherever it is, that will do what you are describing.

    Thanks Monica,

It sounds like the SAPs are the same whether print or DE, I was hoping maybe DE had a technological advantage.

DE would not solve this problem over print-only versions because both editions contain the same feature: unprotected SAP pages that you are welcome to manipulate (but of course not share with non-purchasers). However, having everyone on DE gives everyone the ability to upgrade to the exact same edition. That said, we provide other avenues to getting everyone on the same page when there are various editions being used in one group.

    1. Our Book Updates Charts (BUCs) provide every TOG co-op member who owns their year-plan (no matter which edition) with the ability to download and print replacement pages that cover questions, answers, and assignments for newly chosen replacement books for those gone out of print. This means that those who hold older copies can catch up with those who buy newer copies.

    2. The same BUCs also contain archives of OLD books that have been replaced (along with all their pertinent pages) such that, if the group is mainly "old copy" holders and want to use "older" books that once were used in TOG, the newer folks can download pertinent pages for those books (and usually find them inexpensively available in used book stores or on Internet websites or libraries).

    3. We have a new page just out: http://www.tapestryofgrace.com/commu...ifferences.php. This page shows a chart that tells the major differences between editions of the same year-plans as they came out year by year.

    Hope this information helps you!
    Blessings,
    Marcia

Thanks Marcia, I'm trying to figure out what will work best for the group; find the pros and cons. Dana had already given me the link to the difference chart, but I wanted to see if the selective printing problem would be helped by going with DE.

If I can ask for one more bit of information, where is the information about upgrading found. I need to look at that and figure out if that would make more sense.

WAIT! Hold the presses! I looked at the differences chart and found the upgrade information. So no more information needed after all.

Haha! So glad you found what you needed! We are doing our best to better communicate to co-ops so that these types of issues are easily decided *before* the school year begins.
