    Printing Maps

I'm having a hard time printing the maps with my DE version on my Mac. If I print them from a PDF (like from the sample pages), they print fine. But, if I try to print them from Map Aids, they're VERY light, nearly impossible to see, and most of the landforms (like rivers... all of the rivers) don't print at all. Any suggestions?

    Hello Kristi!

I have not heard of this problem before. Does this happen with specific maps or for any that you try to print? One thing that you could try would be to update your printer drivers. If you're on a PC, you can do that by going to the Device Manager (which you can find with a quick start menu search) and right-clicking on your printer to select Update Driver Software.

Thanks for replying Alex! It happens to any that I print from LockLizard, and, apparently, to my Lapbook files, as well. I actually started printing those right before I came to the forum, and they're printing blank as well. I can print the workbook just fine, though.

ETA: I'm on a Macbook Pro.

When I print from a PDF file (like the samples on the first 3 weeks), I have to print it as an image for it to work. But, the dialog box when I print from LockLizard doesn't give me that option.

I can also seem to print off the curriculum itself just fine. It's just the maps and the lapbooks.

The fact that you have to print the PDF files differently for them to work make me think even more that it may be something with your printer software that needs to be updated. The Mac actually includes printer driver updates in its operating system updates, so to make sure you have the latest version of OS X, click on the Apple button in the very top left corner of your screen, select "About This Mac," and click the button for Software Update. If that does not work, you can go into your System Preferences under Print & Scan and try running some diagnostics on your printer.

I did print off a map here and it printed correctly, so beyond those things I mentioned you may need to consult a local PC technician as the problem seems to be centered around your printer and computer rather than specific to the Tapestry DE.
