    Shorter Works Anthology Assignments?

I didn't buy the shorter works anthology because it was my understanding that the selections were public domain and easy to find, but I cannot find the assignments. Student materials indicate that there are readings from the anthology and excerpts from Roman de Brut assigned for week 1, but no indication of what they are that I can find. Can anyone direct me? It's awfully early in the year to be as behind as I feel, and *so* frustrated. Thanks.

Just a humble users opinion, here. I did without the Year 3 shorter works anthology last year because it no longer matched my printed version, BUT for Year 2 where many works will be translated due to either other languages or older languages I'd go ahead and get the shorter works anthology. It is much cheaper than the Norton Anthology previously used.

Thanks, Pat. I probably will. But does it include the assignments? Right now I am just really frustrated because we are *still* trying to figure out week one, and I feel my feet slipping under me. Just want to tell the child what he's supposed to be reading.

    Debora,

While Government and Shorter Works Anthology do come from public domain material the selections are far from easy to find. That's why we recommend purchasing the Shorter Works Anthology for Year 2 and Year 3. Home-school moms are so busy (especially during the Rhetoric years of teaching) that you just don't have the many hours it takes to look up and find the correct excerpts from the documents that the students are studying each week. Please don't feel overwhelmed you are just starting out. There is time to order Shorter Works Anthology and take that stress off of you from the start.

If you order the DE Shorter Works Anthology it can be downloaded immediately after purchase and you can go ahead and get started with your week as normal. I hope this information helps. Have a great day.

    Debora,

Yes, the Shorter Works Anthology has the assignments broken down into weeks. You will just select the specific week you are on and go there and read the assignments for that particular week.

    Deborah,

If you bought DE you will need to go to the download center and download it. After you download your product open up your Tapestry icon that appears on your desktop. Open up a Unit at the top of the page, open a week, and Shorter Works Anthology should be in the drop-down list. Click on this and in the middle of the page you will see the Shorter Works Anthology section appear. It lists what the student will be reading for the week. Click on the links to access the student reading for the week.

If you need assistance in downloading the product please contact Technical Support for help at 1-877-621-7021.

Thanks, Sharon. It's right where it's supposed to be. Sorry if I've been short-tempered. You've been very helpful.
