I stumbled on an episode of America Unearthed on the History2 channel. It is available for viewing (free) on their website right now. It talks about the Alamo and a bit of Texas history (week 10 topic) and mentions Andrew Jackson and the Indian Removal Act (week 11). My dialectic kids enjoyed watching it and loved discussing the possibilities it presented. There is a reenactment of the Battle of the Alamo and blood in it. My daughter, who is extremely sensitive to blood, was able to handle it, but I highly recommend you preview the beginning to decide if your kids can handle it. I just loved this modern day discovery and the ties to history and the bridge the information gave to next week's studies.
