I have a (maybe?) strange question for those who buy the books

I've been thinking the past couple of days and I have a question for those of you who have used TOG through at least 1 cycle and have youngers too. I have a fairly wide age spread doing TOG this year, 14-5 and I have a 3 yo also coming up. We are doing Y1 this year, LG and UG to get our feet wet, so to speak. When we cycle back through, using D or R books, (with the youngers using the LG and/or UG books), the lesson plans will change because of OOP books and the lp's will not show alot of the LG/UG books that I'm using now. How do you make that work? Do you sell the older books and just rebuy later?

I really hope I've been clear in my question, it's hard for me to figure out how to put it TIA!!

    Shari,

You can continue to use older books with the LG/UG students. You do not need to buy again. If you have a DE version you can update because older books are archived on the Book Updates Chart. If you are using print and the books you buy at Bookshelf Central (in the future) are different from the ones in your print version we have those new books and pages on the Book Updates Chart as well.

I hope this information is helpful. Have a great day!

So what is the book update charts? Because wouldn't all the Student Activity Pages be different?

Isn't the bok updates chart just a list of the older books? Or do they have a link to the corresponding SAP pages and information needed?

Yes it does have SAPs for both the new books and the older books. The only frustrating part is that Tapestry is now charging a $5 fee to find your "licence" if you change to a new computer. The plus of that is that in theory that should last you for the life of one computer.

    Hi all,
You do get one free license with your first purchase; the $5 fee is only charged if you want to put your curriculum on additional devices. If you have a computer crash, you can note that when you request a new license. The administrator will then keep that in mind when reviewing and the chances are high that the $5 fee will be negated. (There are several factors that affect that, but it is important to type in the reason so we'll know and can serve you better in this regard.)

Also, please note that if we update the curriculum itself, that won't show up on the Book Updates Charts. Only changes resulting from OOP books will show up there.

    I hope this helps!

Dana, I'm a print user and only need the new liscence to be able to open the out of print book files. I'm afraid all I remember from when I purchased is those would be provided ongoing.

    Hi Pat,
You get one free license as a print customer too...even though that license is just for the BUC. If you have any problem with it, just email me and I'm glad to make sure everything is set up correctly.
