Week 4 literature question: clarification?

In the SAP for the dialectic literature questions, this statement is made to the students:

"Both conscience and creation speak to people's hearts about their loving Creator. Bits and pieces of revealed truth come to be mixed up in mythology, which is why they are repeated from generation to generation."

I'm sure my class will ask me about this, but somehow I'm just not understanding what's meant here.

Anyone able to unpack this for me?

Hi Vicki,
People can learn about the truth about the Creator through their conscience and through creation. So, as myths are propagated from generation to generation, bits and pieces of truth get mixed into myths. Therefore, it is important to be careful and not think that because there is a bit of truth in a story that the whole story is true and accurate.
