    Defense of secular literature

    Hello,

Somewhere in my readings about Tapestry of Grace's philosophies, I have read an article (or multiple articles?) in which they defend their reasoning for teaching secular literature. Could someone please direct me to that resource again because I cannot find it now.

    Thank you!!

    Hi Laura,

You can find this document on the Loom under the heading Literature Helps. When you open this document look for Appendix A: Hard Topics near the end of the table of contents. Appendix A discusses hard topics when reading secular literature and how to approach it with your students. It is very helpful document.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need additional assistance.

    God Bless,

    Thank you Sharon!

Yes, I need more help. With your direction, I was able to find the "Hard Topics" article. Then I looked on the Loom from Year One and found the one I remembered. It is titled "Introduction to Literary Studies." I found it on the Year One and Year Two Loom, but not on Year Three or Year Four.

There is a family in our co-op that I would like to share this document with. They are new to Tapestry and have begun this fall with Year Four, so that is the only curriculum they have access to. Is there any way I can give my friend this resource? Obviously, I cannot copy and paste from the Loom.

I think it is helpful in understanding Tapestry's literature choices. We are wrestling with some of the dialectic literature choices in Year Four and trying to determine what age is best to expose our children to certain themes and ideas.

    Thank you so much!
