Thread: Literary Comparison paper

Does this have to be two different works? Or could my daughter compare different characters in one work? I think she'd like to compare Benedick and Beatrice vs. Hero and Claudio. This has been a tough year. We've managed to stay on track for Honors Lit, but it'd be nice if this paper wasn't a bone of contention.
If this suggestion doesn't qualify, could she compare relationships in more than one of Shakespeare's plays? She took a Shakespeare class this year, so she has extras under her belt.

I wouldn't be bound by the suggested outlines of the Lit Comp. paper. If she wants to do a paper comparing the pairs of lovers in Much Ado About Nothing, God bless her! The point was for students to start with a Lit Analysis paper and then expand their horizons to the Lit Comp. paper (because comparing two different works is harder than writing about just one work), but that is NOT a rule. It's more like a guideline. :-) I'd say go for the Benedick/Beatrice vs. Claudio/Hero paper!
