it, and immediately put all the pages into a binder so nothing
gets mixed up. Then sit down and read the purple
Introductory Notes to your Year-Plan.
REDESIGNED USERS: Find
the paper in your box that tells you about The
Loom. If your information
page about The Loom is not in your box, click here
to find brief instructions.)

CLASSIC
USERS: Time to choose books! In the same BASE Unit,
identify the yellow Resource List, which lists every book
we recommend in your year-plan. Open the first nine-week
Unit you plan to use and put it into a binder. Now, start
shopping for books by using the Resource List and the yellow
Reading Assignment Charts found in each week-plan of your
unit. You will need to buy your books from various
vendors. Lampstand Press lists links
to Amazon.com for most of the resources you'll need.
YEAR 1 REDESIGNED USERS: Open
each unit you've received and put it into a 1.5"
binder. Start to browse the unit you'll use first,
noting the pages with yellow bars at the top. These are your
Reading Assignment Charts and Weekly Overviews.
They give you a summary of each week-plan. Take out the Order
Form and start shopping for books.
- Note: on each two-page Reading
Assignment Chart, those on the left page
are sold by The
Bookshelf; those on the right page are
optional extra choices.
- On The Loom disk, access the Excel-based Resource List.
You can sort it and print it! There are two pages to it
(see tabs at the bottom), corresponding to the two pages of
each chart.)
- Also, located on The Loom disk, print (or read onscreen) the Introductory Notes to
your year-plan. These will really help you to
get started!
YEAR 2 REDESIGNED USERS: Open
each unit you've received and put it into a 1.5"
binder. Start to browse the unit you'll use first,
noting the pages with yellow bars at the top. These are your
Reading Assignment Charts and Weekly Overviews.
They give you a summary of each week-plan. Take out the Order
Form and start shopping for books.
- Note: on each two-page Reading
Assignment Chart, those on the left page
are sold by The
Bookshelf; those on the right page are
optional extra choices.
- Note: You should have received
working Reading Assignment Charts for the units still in
production.
- As soon as The Loom is
activated for you, access the Excel-based Resource List.
You can sort it and print it! There are two pages to it
(see tabs at the bottom), corresponding to the two pages of
each chart.)

Locate
the Writing Component for your year-plan, and browse through
the assignments and teacher aids so you'll know where to find them
when planning time comes.
CLASSIC USERS: Your entire
Writing Component (teacher planning tools, student assignments,
and supplements)
are found in that BASE Unit you started with on white, purple,
coral, and green colored sheets. Teacher
materials are on purple and white paper. Student assignments
are on coral. Supplements on green.
REDESIGNED USERS: You will
find the actual Writing assignments arranged by level each week in
your week-plan (they have a red bar at the top and are always on
pages 8-10 in each week-plan). There is a Writing Teacher's Manual
available on The Loom, and there are Supplements there for
you to print down, as well as guides to choosing the right writing
level for your student.
All Tapestry users will
benefit from our new eProduct: Writing
